this is my female flowerhorn she is extremely aggressive but won't even eat feeders! there is a pic with flash, one without, and one when i first got her

this is my male not as aggressive toward the female but tears up feeders when he has the chance

At one time I had 8 flowerhorns in different tanks. I thought they were too aggressive and sold them. Now I regret it.

my camera is broken so i cant take pics but i have a male 7 inch fh that i picked up yesterday. zz red dragon i believe. i will post pics as soon as i get my camera fixed.

variety i guess.. they usually eat mealworms,hikari gold,omega shrimp pellets, freeze dryed krill and earthworms.

i think that it is weird that one eats feeders and the more aggressive one does not.

you reply alot about flowerhorns do you have any??? or are you still rockin' the bucktoothed tetra with convicts???

Hello. Long time reader, new member.

Here's my guy. The flash makes the pearliness exagerrated and washes out his lovely reds. But this is my best shot. He is male although my painted turtle has gotten his trailing dorsal n anal fins. 8-9" long SL i guess. Got him at 7" on a trade of $20 Fish Credit for a pr of 5" Depseys I got rid of.

He's a classic pearly ZZ strain. There's tons of newer ones out there with all kinds of gaudy colors but I still like the classic ZZ's the best.

I recently got rid of the majority of my aggressive freshwater fish. This guy is the only Flowerhorn I kept. He's a Golden Leopard. Made in the USA. He does get a pretty decend hump. But when he's breeding it goes down. And he's not a show fish he's a lover so he usually doesn't have much of a nuchal hump.
