Lets see here, Ill try my best
On the west side of town is
House of Tropicals which is on River Rd.
Biggest store in town, absolutely huge. Breed their own angels, guppies, and pirahna. Good selection. Not the friendliest of owners.
Northwest
Aquatics and Exotics is on the corner of Hamilton and Compton in Mt Healthy. This is my personal favorite. Best employees and owner with knowledge. Not a huge selection but they definitely place quality over quanity. Puffers, wolf fish, specialty pirahna, uncommon cichlids, uncommon cats, etc. Saw a muellers knife with in the past few months. 10000 g shark pond. Big ass salt water set up. Great store. Check out there web site.
Mason
There is an Aquarium Adventures. New chain store. Great to go look around and see their display tanks. Best displays in town. Nice selection. They are pricey, guess they make you pay at a super store.
Out east
Hyde Park
Your Pet Shop is on the corner of Wasson and Isabella. Nice little shop. Got a lotta pond plants. Small fish selection but they have nice stuff. Have great prices and nice staff.
Mt. Washington
Just Fish is at a new location at the bottom of Beechmont Ave.'s hill at the Skytop Pavilion. Small shop. Lots more salt than fresh. Staff knows what their talking about, and they have a good selection on and off. Good prices.
Just south in KY
Newport
I think it is Pet n Such. And it i think it used to be part of chain but not anymore. Regardless they have an awesome setup. Great selection of cichlids and tetras. Nice plants. In ky more fish are banned than in ohio. No pirahna. They get good odds and ends. Very clean
Florence
Pet world is on Turfway Rd. Been going to this store for 15 years. Great staff and prices. Selection is good. Great cichlids.
There are plenty of Petsmarts, Jacks Aquariums, Petlands, and any other chain in town. Everything mentioned is a single shop. So if any has anything to add please do so.

Great reviews man, couldnt agree more. Havent been to house of tropicals in a couple years, do they still have the poor nurse sharks in the undersized tank that you can feed goldfish to? Gotta say Aquatics and exotics and just fish are my fav's. Havent been to the new location yet, but i plan on it soon.

It's Just About Fish, and thanks for the review of my store

And in Newport, it's not Petland (it's a franchise). As far as at JAF, what kind of fish would you like to see more of?

Edit: It's not Pets n Such any longer, it's Petland. My bad...

There is an Aquarium Adventure in Cleveland. I like to go there and look around, but rarely buy anything there. It is way overpriced. I did find out that Aquarium Adventure is a division of Petland, and that they are trying to sell franchises.

ohhh also about house of tropicals, i agree with you it's a cool store (and the owners are kinda unfriendly). Only downside i can see to that store is how many friggin guppies do you need................ Would like to see them add some more african chiclids to, though i may have just been there at a bad time for selection.

I can get you a wyckii but it will probably be a little while before I can get any others, they're gonna sell for $100 (approx. 6-8"). As far as dovii, I've got about 150 fry right now that are slowly but surely growing, I wish I had time to do more feedings though. I can probably move the dovii in another month or so, how many do you think you would want? Quantity discounts will apply. Note: the wyckii will be through the store (JAF) and the dovii are my own personal breeders that I will NOT be bringing to the store.

That sounds great man. I'd be interested in 6 babies when they are ready. Keep me posted about the wykii, I've always wanted one since i saw my first adult specimen a co-worker had. That was the prettiest and most aggresive catfish I've ever seen. It would try and eat anything that entered the tank, including hands. Should I stop by the store to talk in further detail? Lemme know man, and thanks a ton.

Gotcha man, I think I know who you are. Did you work evenings when the store was at Harpers point? Either way, I'll drop by the store and find out sometime soon. Later man.

Ya, I've been on a Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat schedule since I started and I use to work evenings. Now I'm pretty much on a 9-5 schedule, it's a little nicer getting off early. Well I guess I will see you soon, my dovii fry are now in a 20gal. tank for growing out, hopefully I can have them ready soon, at what size would you like to take some?

Dovii fry no more, they are growing ungodly slow, so I threw them back in with the parents and have not seen hide nor hair of them. If you would like Dovii, I'll be doing a Rapps order through JAF probably the week of 7/25 at some point, let me know if you're interested in anything...?

Just got back from House of Tropicals with my son.
Impression:
Large store with a lot of tank space. Smaller freshwater section. They breed red belly pirahna, guppy, sword tails, and angel fish. The result is no less than 30 guppy tanks, 25 anglefish tanks, and at least 15 Pirahna. More than half the store is for these three fish.
They had a tank labeled Fahaka Puffer for $20, but it was empty. They had a very small ornate for $39. Teacup ray $69. A few Silver Arrows. Two Wimple Pirahna.
I bought.....nothing. Fish prices were too high. I actually picked up two bulkheads and they weren't cheap. Cool store but too small of selection for the number of tanks and expensive. Owner was cool to me.
