Hi Loubard,

the leaf is for lovering a bit of PH and it is against infections i added more of them because i know they would fight a bit i don't know the english Name in German they are called Seemandelbaum Blätter(leafs) .... i also have an ultraviolet lamp added to the external filter the only thing i worry about with Channa infections so i do all to avoid them.

Regards

Gaetano

All I can say is watch their eyes, they have really weak eyes and will cloud over in an instant if the water is not perfect.
Siciliano
Hi

Thanks Neil i do my best buddy but they are to small right now.... smile.gif

@ David, thank you for your tip im gonna look after that ! i will change a part of water every 14 days or maybe a small one every week ? .... the filtration is big enough for the tank + UV Light so no need to craze abou this.

Gaetano
tigger68
HA >>> How do you know they are to small to breed if no one has done them before ?
biggrin.gif tongue.gif
Going away from these fish .
If all fishes only bred at maximum size there would be many more extict fishes .
All the Best Buddy ...

Very interesting thread. I wonder if any of you guys that are trying to breed barcas use a cooling off period to stimulate them to spawn? Do you do any other methods to induce spawning, like adjusting the pH, lighting, and so on?

That is the plan. I had no luck last year though dry.gif , going to try again this year.

Wow ... that much???? How about a close relative to barc the micropeltes or TOMAN? Is it also that pricy? Toman is known to be the most aggressive snakehead and can grow big ... and also considered as popular game fish as well as delicacy here in Indonesia. Toman also known to attack human swimming nearby its nest and oftenly attack its owner during tank maintenances.
I'm breeding Channa Micropeltes and Channa Striata now ... and if the price is that high, I'm considering exporting the species.
