I will also be getting some peackbass and a Fire Eel.

I am currently looking for

- Fire eel
- Peackcok bass

I no longer have the supposely black P or the little fire dragon (flowerhorn) anymore...

dholland24
whats up everyone, I just got a 75 gallon tank, was thinking about 5 of the black pirahnas to put into there. First time ever having these fish or any fish for that matter, any suggestions? is that to many for that tank? any suggestions would be appreciated.

That is a bad choice of fish if you are wanting to have that many. Back Rhoms are a solitary fish and will kill each other off sooner or later. if you are going to shoal them you want a Pygocentrus. redbellies caribe, ternetzi or piraya. those tend to shoal best. most Serrasalmus dont.
If you used the 75g tank I personally think that 3 or 4 reds would be fine in there but when they get larger they would need a 125g or so to be comfortable.

OH Ya, Welcome to the board

SO not the black ones, get the reds? i have no clue but i thought that if you get the black ones young they dont kill eachother off and that they were more agressive than the reds? how long does it take the black ones to get big and how long does it take for the reds to get to big?
pythonwill
Black rhoms will grow pretty fast up to about 5" then slow way down. A redbelly will grow alot faster.
Blacks will kill each other unless you have a HUGE tank, a 75g just wouldnt work for them. they are more aggressive and that is why they need to be solitary fish. go to the piranha forum and ask others if you like. Im sure you will hear the same thing.
