Since Machete is talking smack in his Peacock Bass thread and dissing my Pleco ID thread, I think the freshwater stingray enthusiasts need to show him who's boss!

Waterwolves has all of the hardcore stingray enthusiasts, so let's attach photos of our rays in this thread along with scientific names, common names and the Aqualog P-numbers or R-number if known.

Eventually, we will move this topic over to the Freshwater Stingrays forum and perhaps even re-organize it into a proper stingray informational article. Feel free to write a short paragraph or two about your personal experience and observation with your rays. Please help us out.

But most importantly, we need to make Machete eat crow!! wink.gif

I'll start with a few pics and post more later.

P14 have distinct physical characteristics that distinguish them from the other black species. In addition, their maximum size at maturity appears to be much smaller as well. The current thinking is that P14 are a different species.
