Hi, I was just wondering if tank mates are possible with a red wolf fish! Right now he's alone in a 55 gallon but I just acquired a 90 gallon the I will begin cycling and move him when it's done... I have a clown knife that is about 8 inchs(will be moving to my brothers 300 gallons when he gets to big for the 110 he's in now)can I put him in with him? How about a large angelfish? Or a 6 inch plecostomus?a tiger Oscar maybe? Please share ur thoughts the wolf is about 5 inch

Red wolffish (Erythrinus sp.) are quarrelsome among themselves, but are typically fine with tankmates that are too large to swallow. As a general rule, I keep one red wolf to a tank. They really beat each other up. sad.gif

The longer they are in a single tank tho, the more aggressive they get because they establish their boundaries. You can keep tank mates with them, but be cautious!

4.5 in red high fin wolf fish
4 in muda piranha
5.5 in black mask elongatus piranha
