A handful of these beautiful and very rare Oscars made there way to Japan and I was one of the lucky ones to pick up. Seiichi got some too. Anyway mine is about 1" and was intent on sitting all the way up the back of the bus, so pics were a little difficult.

you only got one? You need to get a small group for possible future breeding.
How much US dollars do these cost? $300?

I believe these are one of the hardest to obtain oscars.

I am hopping this cod wants to continue eating. My last one refused to eat dead food after I gave him live feeders, then one of my aimaras decided it would be a nice wholesome meal... dry.gif

I think Seiichi has an adult pic.

Beautiful Oscar

I've been trying to get Astronotus crassipinnis for a couple years now, I didn't know there was a "harder" species to get ahold of than the crassipinnis.

Do you guys have crassipinnis over there?

Again, beautiful fish ashdavid, congrats

There is obviously much more accesable oscars here but they are quite abundant and also quite cheap for a small one, although the imports can be on and off so you may not know when the next batch will come in, but may have a constant flow for a while too. Deffinately not one of the harder species to get. smile.gif

Well consider yourself very lucky my friend. I'd give my left arm for a true crassipinnis over here in the US.

Good luck with new little guy, he's awesome.

You must be from the other board. I saw the flame fest over this oscar. The oscar is now 24" with the same exact pattern and colors. smile.gif

O'Malley and I used to joke that the amount of jerks over at MFK was proportional to the increased activity. You want to read a lot of crap and be insulted, go to the other site. You want intelligent, decent conversation, come here.
