I must admit I find it rather incredulous that anyone would part with a large SH gratis with a small tank purchase. But, luck is what you make it! The fish looked a little mushy. How was the texture? In my head, it smelled good I think I'm going to go looking for some frozen SH this week ...

QUOTE(akira @ Mar 24 2008, 02:04 PM) not too worried about fish meds. The guy who owned this fed pellets to this fish and it was the only thing in the tank.
BTW, eating any fish has some danger elements to it. With the amount of mercury in fish these days, it is very dangerous to eat large amounts of fish, expecially for women. It may have some adverse effects to children.
speaking of "meds" whats up akira, did you run out , Next time you find yourself in this situation pm me and I will buy you a hamburger, and I will take your illegal fish when your head is turned, ........man.
FISH ARE PEOPLE TOO!!
JUST ONE MORE TANK........ QUOTE(shrimpsauce @ Jul 15 2003, 07:35 AM) * my umbee are still wee ones but even now they are full of personality, so i assume they are awsome "pets" when they get big. but from experience i think trimacs and midas are the best, they look kickass and are very responsive.

QUOTE(KRSwop1 @ Mar 28 2008, 06:49 PM) A striata that size. You gotta be kidding me. Hope you enjoyed your $400 or so dollar meal. QUOTE(akira @ Mar 28 2008, 08:37 PM) it was just a dumb old SH anyways. probably worth nothing.
It was not a C. striata. It was a C. aurantimaculata

QUOTE(ScottGeeze @ Mar 29 2008, 11:58 AM) Well for one fish tuberculosis. If they have it. I've read many articles that said that if the fish has a certain disease then there is a chance of catching it even when cleaning your tank although the chances are small. Eating them can be dangerous and should never be done because of this and not to mention the fact that if you've treated them with chemicals to get rid of a disease then you could do damage to your body by eating it because chemicals in the medicine stays in the fatty tissues of the fish.
there are all types of virus's and bacteria on fish in salt water and fresh water. The fish you get in the fish markets are not safe. Its all a crap shoot. You can get fish TB from hot tubs, swimming pools, etc.. if the water is not taken care of properly. Most of the fish desiese are trasfered through water, even your tap water. And who said anything about posting about selling, trading or giving it to someone. Some things don't need to be posted on the forum. I know I've had fish, sold fish and traded fish in the past that I didn't post on this forum. I'm sure many of us one the boards have. And by many, I mean a lot. And by a lot, I mean a lot, alot. And by a lot, a lot, I mean almost everyone that I know in the trade. And by almost everyone in the trade I mean...If you don't get the idea by now, you're hella slow.
