hey, I believe sabre tooth barracudes are also called vampire tetras. These fish get 4 ft long so have a large tank for them later on.

how big is it now? About a few inches right? Should work in the 125 for a little bit but shop around and see if you can snag up a large tank on craigslist for a good price for a future larger home for the fish.

There are many types of characins referred to as sabre-toothed barracuda. MOST are some type of payara. Do a search for "hydrolycus" and you should find a ton of info.

there are 6 types of vampire tetra, if thats what it is. posting a pic is ur best bet in identifying it. sabertooth and baracuda dont go together. its either a sabertooth tetra or a baracuda. its size and space needed depends on the type. the smallest type gets about 18 inches and the biggest gets around 4 ft.

rhaphiodon vulpinus. he is considered a vampire tetra but not in the payara family.

awsome fish that will eventually need a huge tank and very calm tankmates.

they get nervous and chlostraphobic easy.

my pics always blow up like that too

they need a wide tank.

if they have enough room, they will get about 2 to 3 feet in captivity.
