hey guys i recently got a pair of m/f cherax sp irian jaya and just wanted to share with u. im keeping them in a 55gl and so far so good the female is molting right now possibly triggered by a water change i did yesterday so i didnt want to bother her for a pic. their a lil more reclusive than cherax quad. but for me the colors make up for it. they are very peaceful as in this tank im also keeping a juvie polleni 3.5inches and have seen no signs of aggro whatsoever. these guys even share caves sometimes and maybe it helps that i have the tank loaded w driftwood so everybody has plenty of personal crevices and hiding spots. this is a pic of male hes about 5inches give or take.

hey whats up norb, these guys are eating frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, emerald entree, mysis shrimp, hikari sinking carnivore and massivore, algae tablets. whenever there out strolling around theyre constantly picking little tidbits from between the gravel. what sucks is that theres barely any info on cherax sp; hoa creek/ irian jaya on the web. i joined crayfish mates forum hoping to find a lil more info but barely anybody on there owns these guys. im gonna start searching for a book on cherax species
