My tiger shovelnose has a problem. There's a lump on one side of his jaw and the gill seems to be peeling back slightly, the other side is fine. It hasn't seemed to affect him but it worries me. I'm not sure what's causing it or if it's reversible, so any help would be wonderful thanks much.....
P.S. sorry about the pic quality...

I had the same problem with mine. except the lump apreared to be like a giant "whitehead" zit right behind the gills lol. i woke up one morning and it was gone, there appeared to be a small wound (maybe where it poped or he rubbed it off on something) then about 2-3 days later he was fine, the wound was gone and it looked very normal. slight discorlor where it was though. its been months since he had that and everything appears normal. hope this helps.

Is this guys gills any better? No one really responded, but with much research into this with many deformed gills on koi that I have received- the Gill curl is from bad water quality.

Chilo Gator, although it has been 2.5 years, I wonder how your TSN is and what happened with that growth.
