Awesome collection, James. Beautiful decor. You better watch out for that musk turtle. Those turtles are a cousin to the snappers. My musk turtle managed to kill a bigger Mata Mata and an FRT of its own size. ohmy.gif Again, beautiful tanks.

Nice to see your fish and tanks.

Gotta love the "pajamas" wink.gif

Thanks for the nice comments, all. The Mexican musk, interestingly, is pretty hen-pecked in his tank: the giant gourami routinely nips him, and the little istlanum in there has figured out the turtle's head isn't as hard as the shell! I am wary of him with the map turtle, sometimes he goes after him a little too vigorously. I just hope they make it through the winter together, and then they can go in separate ponds. I have noticed over the last 4-5 months the musk's shell and skin have considerably "lightened". I may rename him "Michael Jackson", instead of his WonderPet name: Tuck. laugh.gif

The hex got mauled when I had to remove 1 stubborn upside-down cat out of it. I rearranged it to recreate the look, but didn't get it quite right. Regardless, the tentacled snakes seem to be settling in. I'll get some shots up of them soon (soon, as in "after Machete puts some worse pics up so mine don't look so bad" tongue.gif ).

Sorry, no Puntius denisonii in there - they just don't grow large enough to not get eaten by the hampalas! They would make a nice complement to the pjs, I'll have to track some down. I do have 4 male Barbus filamentosus (filament barbs) that always posture with each other, complete with lots of tubercles. No females, sadly.

Thanks for the nice words, the putitora seemed to slow down growth, and now are beefing up a little. Everybody gets along fine; the only little nicks I ever see are on the 2 smaller hampalas, wrought by the big one. My wife moaned when I got rid of some frontosas a while back because she thought they were gorgeous. They hid all the time with all the commotion in my house. The big barbs and mahseers seem to love activity outside the tank - when my kids bang on the stands or make lots of noise the barbs seem to mistake it as feeding time!

Beautiful aquascaping. My friend had a Musk Turtle a few years ago and he had to sell it because it killed his Mata Mata too.
