SPECIES OF THE MONTH
Hello and welcome to the Species of the Month forum. This is a place where we highlight a species and solicit pictures, facts, and experiences from our members. The intention of this forum is to become an archive of information and images for years to come. This will be an invaluable resource for both veteran fish-keepers and those entirely new to the hobby.

As well as the baseline regulations of conduct for WaterWolves, the following guidelines will be strictly enforced.

- Keep posts on topic and as brief as possible
- Posting another person's pictures constitutes grounds for immediate banning
- A certain amount of maturity and professionalism will be maintained in this forum. Posts deemed pointless or out of place will be deleted at the discretion of the staff.
- No amount of ?flaming? or personal attacks will be tolerated.
- Disagreements are allowed provided they are phrased respectfully
- Negative experiences with the highlighted species are allowed as long as they are phrased respectfully
- Please refrain from repeating information already in the thread
- The place to suggest a future species of the month is in the poll thread, not in the highlighted species thread.

Guys, "good job" and "I like my [species in question]" are not acceptable additions to the threads! These are intended to be pure, unadulterated nuggets of pertinent and intelligently presented information. If the congratulations trail on and on in between informative posts, it's going to be a pain in the ass.

Now, if you throw a "Nice write-up" in with some good info, that's perfectly fine.

Also, questions are more than acceptable, they are appreciated. Post your questions. We'll just delete them once they've been answered just to keep the clean look of the threads.

thank you.

ok, due to our members' incessant need to post "nice write up" and "I have one of these" in the species profiles, I have decided to give in. I mean, you are the members and this site is for you.... so I'll let you have this, but only for a week at a time.

So, if you want to throw your praise up in public (b/c a PM just won't do) or post something that is not directly important to the discussion, go ahead. I'll come through once a week (let's say Fridays) and clean house. If you post on Thursday, or earlier Friday, I'm sorry but I'm not going to go around figureing out which is which. It's enough work just determining if your posts have any merrit.

This way, you have a chance to let the world know whatever it is you want them to know.... but the forum won't get absolutely covered with junk.

Again, it's nothing personal if I delete what you've written... I'll deleted my own stuff too. And I'll delete this post of this idea proves to be too much work.
