big cypress is not a bad place to fish.

But, I'd rethink your visit dates! That's a notoriously bad time for Florida... granted, I'd be surprised if it were as bad as last year again. But, you'll probably not have the greatest weather.

check these out:

They don't have many pictures left, but the text info is still good. Doing a search should turn up a gang more.

the city so nice, they had to name it twice.

yeah, as you're heading south from Miami, you go over it about 10miles after Rte 1 becomes 2 lanes for the 1st time. I think there's a sign for the Keys right there as well.

It's a pretty normal left (East) off Rte. 1. So, keep your eyes open.

I don't know the Northern most cichlid-inhabited waters. You're supposed to be able to get clown knifes up there somewhere. That would be awesome.

edit: oh yeah, for some reason it says "5" on those maps instead of US1... which is what it really is. In the small map, the 5 is right over the intersection of the arojet and US1.

I don't know why I'm helping... I can barely see through my jealous, hateful rage.

I don't know what kind of cichlids we have but I can say they get over a foot long. All you have to do is walk down a canal bank that isn't to deep and you see these big burrow hole and there is a big ass cichlid in just about everone of them. You will also see some plecos that are over a foot long chilling like they do in a tank. I wish I had my fishing pole with me then I would catch them and take some pics for you.
