Very nice. With your and Ben's Tanganyikan pics, I'm very tempted to set up a Tang community tank out of a 55 marine setup that someone gave to us. I'd like it to be a science project for my son to show the evolution of fish and the different niche that fish in a community setting occupy. I've already been looking at the PCCA site for the speaker of their next meeting. As you know already, fish clubs are the best source for quality captive bred fish.

Thanks,
Sounds like a cool project for him, good luck. I've been thinking of breeding some A. calvus...I've always liked the shape and personnality of them. A group should do well in a smaller tank.

I was trying to get some pics of this fellas teeth...not a bad size yet...in pics of adults I've seen the teeth are huge.

Hey thanks bullfrog,
would love to see pics of your group.

I've never seen one over 6" in person either, although I've seen pics of a pair of wild fish in the lake that were substantially bigger than that. Another member here...FISHKING... posted a pic of what looked like a really big one in a tank but I don't remember what thread it was in.

Very nice, bullfrog...love how dark they get...wonder if that's an age trait or due to spawning?

looks like you have quite a few...4 at least, that I can see...how do they do together?

thanks,
I have six in a 75 gal, they take pot shots at each other, but nothing serious yet.
I think the darkness is due to algae covered glass, black gravel and no lights on tanks .
Also being in a group, always competeing for dominance, and yes spawning.
