Saw these today at Wharf Aquatics, UK. They're Banded Asian Leaffish or Catopra (Pristolepis fasciata). I've kept them before but never, ever seen them this big in shops. They had 3 in the store, I took the largest and one of the others.

They have a beautiful reddish shine to them with some stripes at the rear. The one I'm holding is the smallest-the bigger one I measured and was just under 8" TL. According to most sources this makes them full-grown. It s ashame they're not more common. I was expecting some fighting between them and the Tigerfish but so far, so good. They took frozen bloodworm straightaway.

Highly recommend them. They are colouring up the longer I have them and for their size (they're very full-bodied) are amazinglt placid. They're swimming all over the tank and putting my Dats to shame. wifey really likes them too which is always a bonus. I'll tell her they grow to 2' so i have an excuse to get a bigger tank naughty.gif

Had fasciata years ago, wish I'd never got rid of them. Been looking for them, I'm in USA, anyone know of any for sale?

Take care,

Absolutely-no trouble at all. They took pellets but wouldn't look at frozen peices of prawn. I think they spooked my Tigers initially but are fine now.
