Granted these guys are catfish...and most catfish will eat anything that will fit in their mouth but are these guys "real" predators or just opportunistic feeders when they get big?

Just curious how big of a bichir a 2ft Giraffe cat might try to eat biggrin.gif

I love these cats! They are one of the best at stirring up the substrate and keeping it clean.

They are always on the move. The sand just flies out of the gills. Mine loved to dig for bloodworms and brine shrimp. His quest was to finish everything before the other cats emerged at night and dusk.
Ate pretty well anytime of the day.

It amazes me how they can seperate sand from bloodworms so quickly...like you say that sand just flies out of their gills. Mines out and about during the day also, kinda like that about him.

...so maybe these guys are more sifters and not really a danger to other fish guys??

I had my 2' giraffe with 3" angelicus cats without a problem. They are not predators but definitely cool cats.
