so iv had this fish for a while now and i dont know exactly what kind he is. he was my cuzins bfs but they broke up now hes mine. biggrin.gif so i think she said he was blue when he was smaller. got him around 4 inches and he was this same color. can anyone identify what kind he is?

looks a regular jardini to me, don't think they have a blue base variant like asian aros do.

Yea, that's just a regular jar, but a nice one. I've heard of people claiming to sell color variants, but have never seen pictures of anything out of the norm.

Paid $40 when it was 2". I had many jardinis in the past and this is the only one that has a red tail like this.

I don't see any difference in the tail coloration between your jar, the one I had, or even the one posted in this thread. Like I said before I've seen a lot of different jardini variants being sold before, but they are either sold by someone trying to trick people into paying high dollar for a jar or simply an ill-informed person adding an extra name for a little flair.

It would be cool if there were actual variants or jardini, but I have never seen or heard of one that was truly different.

One of my LFS tried to sell me what appeared to be a red tail jar but I did not buy they wanted 60 bucks. I got to admit I was very tempted. But some else had the same lookin jar for 25 so I went that route.
